The section from Marshall to Elysian Fields was sold to the Marshall, Elysian Fields & Southeastern Railway. The section from East Winnsboro to Gilmer was sold to a new company, the Winnsboro & Gilmer Railroad, but only that portion between East Winnsboro and Rhonesboro was ever operated.
